Another Spirited Effort
Once again I am very pleased to report that the Bantam AE team played an incredibly spirited game against Clarington.
With only 8 players available for tonight's game, the game plan was simple:
Play Defensive, Dump and chase, "Drink lots of water and don't get tired"........lol
With only 3 extra forwards and no defense to spare, EVERY player pushed themselves far beyond the call of duty and put forth a spirited effort in this 6-1 loss.
As a coach, I am proud to stand behind the bench and watch 8 young hockey players have the determination to fight through adversity and hold off a team twice their size only to fall to fatigue in the 3rd period.
Honorable mentions in this one goes to Jaden Laurin for stopping a BOAT load of rubber, Brody Howe for scoring our only goal, Riley King getting the helper and Kyle Thomson for playing the 3rd period on a sprained ankle just to give us the chance to stay in the game!!
However, the best part of this game came when I received a message from the other team saying that their parents were all very impressed to see the heart and determination that was shown on the ice.
"Heart, Determination Teamwork, Confidence and Pride"
In my opinion that's what this is all about folks!!
Can't wait for the next one!
