Midland Silver Stick
This weekend your Atom BB Lindsay Muskies traveled to Midland for the Regional Silver Stick.
Our first game we took on the Otters from Huntsville. Our toughest task yet we have faced this season. The Otters opened the scoring half way through the first period but your Muskies quickly responded with two quick goals to take a 2-1 lead into the second period. After a back and forth second period the Otters were able to tie the game, 2-2.
The third period belonged to the Muskies fast pace and drive to the net scoring 3 in the third to seal the game! Muskies 5 Huntsville 2.
Our second game up against the No.1 ranked host team Midland. This game would be the boys toughest task of the season. The game was a very physical game and even faster pace then boys were use too. Even though Midland came out on top the coaches couldn't have been happier with the teams effort and determination through the whole game. Our first lost of the season but we felt we had won as a team.
Our third game we took on the Orillia Terriers. This game was two evenly matched teams and the most exciting game of the tournament. With a jam packed Midland Arena waiting for the outcome of the game to see who goes into finals this exciting game went into the third period a 0-0 tie. With a pumped up Lindsay crowd the fans helped the boys to open the scoring midway through the third. With less than 3mins left and a power play the Terriers pulled the goalie and tied the game. Wow this game is getting exciting! After another push by the Terriers the Muskies used their speed to strike back and take the lead 2-1. With the Lindsay fans even louder the Muskies shut the door to seal the win.
This left the Muskies in a three way tie to move onto the finals. Coming down to goal % sadly the Muskies were unable to move on. A great tournament the boys played their best hockey of the season. Coaches and parents are very proud of your effort. Keep going Boys!
