Muskies Complete Sweep of Predators
The Lindsay Bantam Muskies advanced to the next round of the OMHA Playdowns on the weekend with another convincing win against the Port Hope Predators to complete the series sweep. It was another complete team effort which saw the Muskies outshoot the Predators 43-11 on the way to the 10-1 win. Now the Muskies will wait and see who they play next in the All Ontario Quarterfinals.
The team came out to a fast start and was quickly up 5-0 in the 1st period before Port Hope got on the board with a PP marker. The 2nd period saw much of the same with Lindsay going up by a score of 10-1 while outshooting Port Hope in this frame by a count of 15-1. The coaching staff was very proud of the players in the 3rd period as players played out of position but continued to play hard while not getting drawn into any undisciplined action.
Scoring in the game saw Cameron Robinson get 4, Matt Cooke with 3 and singles to Dawson Bruce, Zack Rhodes and Dryden Brown. Assists went to Caileb Duffy (2), Liam Shanks (2), Riley MacIver (2), Garrett Fierheller (2), Zach Rhodes (2), Drake McQuarrie (1), Cody Defreitas (1), Matt Cooke (1), Dawson Bruce (1), Hunter Reedman (1), Curtis Appleton (1) and Jaryd Lapointe(1). 3 Stars of the game were Cameron Robinson, Matt Cooke and Zack Rhodes.
The team will have to continue with its strong play into the next round against either Prince Edward County or Stirling if it hopes to move into the Semi-Finals.
