Great way to end the regular season at home
Midget Teal took on Oshawa CYO Blue team in their last regular home game, 2nd last game of the regular season before playoff scheduling takes place on Sunday morning.  CYO Blue is a team that Teal has not beaten in 3 previous meetings so far this season.

It what has become a trend for Midget Teal, the boys would play shorthanded again as 2 of 11 skaters would not be available for the game, and a third player had to work and would not end up making into the game until the start of the third period.  8 skaters against 12 was the way most of the game would be played, except of course for all the penalties, where Teal would have more coaches on the bench again than players.
In a well played first period, each team would find themselves with 2 penalties, one of those being coincidental, and a 0-0 score after 1 period.
In the second period, the visiting team would jump out to a quick lead just :50 seconds in, and then take a 2-0 lead at 12:36 left in the frame.  but on a breakaway pass from Wil, Brock was able to take the puck and shovel it past the CYO twine tender just 25 seconds later to cut the lead in half.  With 4 1/2 minutes left in the period, the same scenario would play out again as Brock was sprung free with a pass from Mike P, and again got a breakaway and finished it off with a goal to tie the game at 2.  45 seconds after his second breakaway goal, and on the same shift as his second goal, Brock was once again the recipient of a breakaway pass this time from Keagan, and once again he put the puck into the mesh for a 3-2 Lindsay lead.  the score would remain that way for the remainder of the period.
Heading into the dressing room at the flood, the team would find that they had their 9th player, Connor, finally at the rink getting changed to come out for the 3rd period, which was a great relief since there was one player still sitting in the penalty box serving a 10 minute misconduct that was as it turns out called in error on the wrong player.  That player would be sitting in the box until he was finally able to come out at the 4:32 remaining mark of the 3rd period, so the fresh legs on the bench were going to be a big asset.
Lindsay knew they had a struggle ahead of them going into the 3rd, and just 1:40 into the frame the tying goal would be found by the visiting team.  Lindsay never gave up, and finally at the 4:32 mark when the misconduct as well as another coincidental penalty were both able to come out of the box, Lindsay was able to play with 6 forwards, giving 3 at a time some rest.  With some great goal tending once again by Greg C, and some timely pucks fired down for icings, Teal was able to hold the tie until a goal mouth area scramble in the visiting end saw the fresh legs of Connor find the loose puck and shovel it into the net for what would hold up as the game winning goal, as Lindsay endured an empty net barrage of activity in their own end for the last minute or so of the game.
One of the hardest fought wins that the boys have had all season will really help then in their quest to finish in the top of the division for the second half of the season.  One game remains, a Saturday night, 8:45pm tilt in Whitby , against the other CYO team, CYO White.
