The quest begins
With the playoffs having been set well over a week ago, it was time to get down to business for Lindsay Midget Teal in their season long quest for the Local League Midget "A" division championship.

In what was a surprise to many people, Sturgeon Thunder was moved up into the top group of teams for the playoff rounds, and in what some considered an even bigger surprise, Sturgeon edged out Lindsay Teal by one point to gain home ice advantage in the best of 3 championship finale.
Game 1 took place on Monday night at the Bobcaygeon arena, and although the visiting Teal team did not play very well at all in the 1st period, and in fact could have been referred to as being dominated for the most part, the score remained tied at zeros after the first frame.
It wasn't long into the 2nd period that the home team broke open the scoring with the first goal of the night.  In typical fashion however, Teal did not take too kindly to that, and a short time later tied the game up when Dan took control of the puck, barged his way to the net and deposited the puck into the twine to tie the game up.  Exactly 5 minutes later it was Lindsay again that popped in a goal by Mike C, with assists to Brock and Wil to put the visitors ahead by a goal.  Unfortunately however that lead was short lived as the home team tied the score up less than 30 seconds later.
With both teams battling hard for the third period the two teams found the game still tied after regulation, which meant they would then head into a 5 minute overtime in an effort to give one team 2 points.
In overtime, both teams had some chances that gave the coaching staffs some heart attacks, but after 5 minutes the game remained tied and the teams would quickly realize that this best 2 out of three series would go at least 3 games.
If after 3 games both teams are still tied on points, then a game 4, play till you win will have to be played.  With any luck on their side at all Lindsay will find the strength to battle hard and come out on top of this championship series.
Game 2 Wednesday night in Lindsay at 9:00pm
