Tuesdays Game was a nail biter for the Muskies. The deck seemed stacked against them but determination won the day. With Yanni Karkoulas, the Muskies regular goalie on the disabled list, the last minute substitution of Tyler Kyle in net, kept the good old hockey game alive...
...As the national anthem played the tension in the rink rose. The drop of the puck saw The Muskies settle in and play a solid
first period, but at 6:08 left in the period the Petes connected for a goal. Lindsay put the pressure on not wanting to end the first down by one.
and with just 0:46 sec. left on the clock Jonah Madsen broke down the left wing picking up a pass in stride from Jacob Moore and shot a hard wrist shot past the Maroons net minder, picking up his 2nd of the season. At 8:44 of the second, Peterborough led by one yet again but not long after, at 8:28, Thomas Malcolm the rushing D man danced around three Petes and put it top shelf on Ashton Shaw, the Petes goalie. Lindsay went up by two
by the periods end, both goals scored by Kyle Sanderson. The first was a breakaway deke unassisted, the second goal a high blocker side shot from Malcolms pass. Peterborough came within one, making it 4-3 less than a minute into the third period. At 7:47 of the third, Moore, on a goal mouth scramble, potted what would eventually be the game winner as the Petes scored to make it 5-4 Lindsay, late in the third. The Muskies took it deep in the Peterborough zone and with heavy forward pressure, the puck stayed there for the remainder of the game.
The dressing room celebration could be heard from the stands as Tyler Kyle's record went 1-0-0 in net.
