Hard Work Never Goes Out of Style
Novice Teal started the new year with a loss to Sturgeon Tyke, but came back with a soothing victory versus Sturgeon Novice two days later. Then, they tied it up against their buddies Lindsay Novice Black. Lose, win, or tie, they always stick together and play hard for each other.
After learning a lesson or two, these muskies took it up another notch, chiselling out three straight hard fought victories.
Lately, they can often be seen digging hard along the boards for every lose puck, back checking their opponent to no end, and continually playing sound positional hockey. Among them has been Raymond Thurston, demonstrating his ability to play a complete game. Well known in many parts, over the past few seasons for being able, at moment's notice, to light up the score board, he is doing it all, and giving his all for his teammates. He is delivering a great offensive punch, and upon request will play shutdown defense.
Along with his teammates, Baylee Borges has taken his play to new heights. He is making all the saves we need, plus a few extra for good measure. His teammates play with great confidence in front of him, knowing that they have number 31 in net.
This team is learning quickly what it takes to win, and will do it together. They have just begun their toughest stretch of the season. Will they come out smiling or wishing for more? One thing is certain - they will play the Muskie way! You can catch them at the Lindsay arena for their next three games.
