Three County Mite Tourney Mar.7/15
I am going to start off by saying, I am going to write this article a little different then previous submissions. I am doing this because something fantastic happened over the course of the tournament. Mite Black faced off against Mite Teal in their first game of the tourney. Mite Black took a commanding 7-1 lead into the third period but Teal did not let up and pulled within two goals but couldn't complete the come back and fell short to the Black squad in a 7-5 win.
Lindsay Mite Black squad was awaiting their next opponent which would be Mite White from Lindsay and while doing so witnessed an incredible game by Teal who came within inches of beating the undefeated CYO squad. Black then faced off against the White squad from Lindsay and with some great individual efforts were able to walk away with a 15-7 victory, putting them in the "A" division final against CYO. While waiting for the championship game many great games were played by all the teams in the league. Including the "B" championship between Lindsay Teal and Lindsay White. With both teams being very tired White was able to pull off the upset victory with a late goal to make it 8-7 and win the "B" championship. Next up it was Lindsay Blacks crack at CYO and this is where something fantastic happened. With and incredible season thus far and many great individual efforts, we finally became a team giving the squad from CYO a run for their money, keeping the game close at 6-6 late into the Third period and unfortunately ran out of gas and fell short in a 10-6 loss. But in your coaches minds you are the CHAMPS not "A" finalist because you played hard as a team. In the words of coach Peter "THEY GOT A PLAYER WE GOT A TEAM" job well done guys!!!! Go Black GO!! see you at the Mite Classic.
