This is no run of the Mill team!
Lindsay visited downtown Millbrook tonight for a Monday night classic

The dressing room was cramped and small with one bag being placed in the shower stall.  The kids were excited to be on their first road game of the season...and as Coach Joey told them.."We are undefeated away from home and we are not going to lose tonight"(Im pretty sure none of the kids realized we have played Zero away games yet..that was Classic Joey being Joey)
The kids stepped out onto the ice and saw the massive goalie at the other end of the ice;  they were not intimidated one bit.
Ryerson F was back in the net and played solid again..he even seemed to toy with the other team at one point by stopping the puck with his stick and waiting for his defence to come back to pick it up.  The coaching staff had to check to see if their hearts were still beating...all was well.
The game went scoreless after the First Period with Lindsay coming out a little flat footed but still controlling the pace of the game.
Millbrook stole the puck early in the  Second Period and moved past our defence and slid one by Ryerson to take a 1-0 lead
Unfortunately for Millbrook, this woke up the Lindsay team and they skated hard and fast and took back control of the game.
Just a little over two minutes later Caleb A fired the puck in the corner and Ian K fired it at the net and Sammy T was at the side of the net for the rebound.  The score was 1-1 and the Lindsay team was fired up and ready for more.
Less than a minute later, Ian K fired in his first of the season..and first of the game with great assists from Sammy T and Owen D
Ian K wasn't done though; with less than two minutes left in the Second, he buried his second goal of the game with a phenomenal assist from Josh D.
The Third Period was the Jarrett B show.  Jarrett potted his first with a beautiful pass from Josh G and a further assist from Aiden G.  He then fired in his second with just over two minutes left to make it 5-1
Owen V and Josh D played their best games that I have witnessed.  Josh D was everywhere and was on top of the puck at every shift he was on the ice.  Josh had two assists in my book; the second from his knees to set up Ian for his second goal..unfortunately the time keeper missed it.
Owen V hustled hard and went end to end to chase down a Millbrook player and took him off the puck and sent the play the other way.
The Defence was solid again with Caleb A and Connor S controlling the line and making sure the play remained in Millbrooks end.  Josh G and Owen D were the same, and ran down Millbrooks best player on almost every occasion.
Maguire D played a gritty game and stole the puck at will and was an intimidating force when he was on the ice.
Ethan M and Griffin W dug in the corners of the opposing end and managed to get the puck to the net a few times which almost led to more goals.
The kids played hard and with heart tonight..they controlled the puck...they skated hard...and they listened to everything the coaches asked them to do.
Like the title says...this is no run of the Mill team...they are getting better and better...hard work and puck control(yes I have said this in every write up...and will continue to)..along with strong defence from all will win hockey games.
Great game kids!!!!!!
