Hard fought loss in Fenelon
We were undermanned today heading to Fenelon Falls with many of our boys away today

3 defence, 5 forwards and our goalie hit the ice in Fenelon Falls to play the very tough Sturgeon Red squad.

The boys worked hard and kept the game close for the first period and a half until the energy began to drain.
Owen D got our first goal of the game early in the 1st to tie the game by going in on a breakaway and backhanding in his own rebound.
Owen V potted our second goal in the 2nd period on a partial break set up by a pass from Jarrett B; by roofing it over the goalies blocker
Sammy T scored our third goal with an assist from Josh G and the help of Ian K distracting the goalie in front of the net.

Caleb A, Josh G and Jarrett B were gassed halfway through the game but kept skating hard and made numerous great plays to keep the puck out of the defensive zone and out of our net.
Owen V, Owen D, Ian K, Sammy T and Josh D played their hearts out as well and took quick fast shifts and kept the legs moving.
Ryerson F had a plethora of shots on him and made some big saves to keep the score respectable.  We don't count shots against...however, this would have been amongst the highest in one game.

I saw good passing; I saw good "checking" or moving the other team off the puck; I saw hard skating; I saw alot of heart today.

Crystal and Coach Chris made sure the kids had some good treats after the game to replenish some of their energy.  We all thank you both for that and the kids enjoyed

All of the coaches were proud and impressed with the boys tonight as they put in the gutsiest effort yet.
