Tier 2 Atom Champs!!!
In a series that would go a full 7 games and see many games close, including overtimes and shoot-outs, Lindsay AtoMc Black Muskies beat their rivals Sturgeon Thunder White to win the Championship!

The series with Sturgeon started off with two games being played in Sturgeon.

Game 1 -- a hard fought loss 2 - 1 in a shoot-out
Game 2 -- another hard loss 3-1

Coming home for the next two games Lindsay was on the ropes down 2 games to none in the best of 7 series.

Game 3 -- a come from behind win, this game again went into a shoot-out, with Lindsay coming out on top 4-3
Game 4 -- was a well played game in which our goaltender got his first playoff shut-out in a 4-0 victory.

The teams would head to the March Break with the series tied two games a piece.  After the break it was time to get right back to work with another game to be played in the rivals barn in Fenelon Falls.

Game 5 -- This was not a pretty one for the Lindsay boys as they ended the game giving up 3 goals in the third period to lose by a score of 4-1
Game 6 -- do or die for the Muskie squad, and this time they showed the poise they needed in helping to get their goalie his second shut-out of the playoffs with a 2-0 win.

It would all come down to a sudden death, winner take all game 7 playoff game with lots of fans crowded around the glass to watch the final game.
The game did not start off well for Lindsay and had everyone holding their collective breath as the home squad went down by 2 goals in just over the first half of the first period.  Crunch time!  Before the end of the period however the boys would cut the lead in half with a beautiful goal by Mason.  However Sturgeon showed that they were not here to give up, and scored another goal of their own with just :16 left on the clock to restore their 2 goal lead.
With just over 2 minutes gone in the second period William rushed in with a great shot of his own to bring the Muskies back to within a goal, and before the midway point of the period arrived the game was tied by a second goal of the game for Mason.
What more could be asked for in a championship game; entering the third period and the game is tied at 3-3.  The Thunder once again proved why they were in this championship game with us by scoring another go-ahead goal just over 3 minutes into the frame.  The game was getting tense as the home team kept pressing, but the line of Mason, Ian and James refused to give up this game that easy and kept going until with just over 5 minutes left Mason once again tied the game with his 3rd goal of the game!  A hat-trick in the championship game!  With just over two minutes remaining Lindsay would get that all important go-ahead goal, again from the same line, this time with James getting the goal, what would turn out to be the game winning goal as the Muskies held on for the last 2:15 to become the Atom Local League Tier two Masters Division Champions!!

Well done boys, you played a great game!
