On Tuesday February 14th/ 2017 it may have been Valentines day but there was no love lost when The Novice Teal Squad stepped onto the battle tested ice of the LRC to face the Sturgeon Thunder squad in their first round playoff game.
Teal would grab an early lead on a goal from Hayden Runge # 15 who was recalled from the minors for the playoff stretch drive. Make no mistake Runge is playing like a man possessed and has no intentions of being sent back down. The Thunder squad would get one past the Teal Keeper Alexis kostashuk # 1 with 5 minutes to go in the first to tie the game at one. But Kostashuk and her defense along with some great back checking from the forwards would have no part of any further scoring by the Sturgeon squad. Then Ethan Yurick # 17 would take matters into his own hands and deliver a hat trick to help the Teal Muskies take the final bite out of the Thunder.
Jaxson Leith #6, Nathan Wooldridge # 18 , Eddie Moynes # 2 and Madison Raymond # 14 would all have an assist in the 4-1 win for Teal. Player Of The Game today would go to Ethan Yurick # 17 for his hat trick., But Warrior of The Game would go to Nathan Wooldridge # 18 for his Defensive grit. Great Job Team, keep it rolling and make them Fear The Fish!!!!!!!!!!!!
