Game 24 vs Durham
Saturday marked the 6th meeting between the Durham Crusaders and our Lindsay Muskies.
It was an early game at the beautiful Legends Centre and everyone was excited to see if our Muskies could bounce back from a tough loss against the Mustangs last Sunday.

The puck dropped at about 10:05 am and it appeared that this game would be a close played..back and forth affair.
Our Muskies seemed to be moving the puck better than the last game and they managed to get some good scoring chances.
Although Durham was able to move the puck out of their end of the ice...the Lindsay defence did not let them get many quality shots on our net.  Jack E, Jackson Q, Kiera W. and Tyson N. were like massive walls throughout most of the game and shut down the Crusaders big forwards before they could generate a threat.
With 2:33 left in the 1st period; Josh G. passed the puck to Sammy T. who took the puck out of our zone and began to move across centre ice.  He floated a pass to his left to a wide open Owen V. who then took off down the left side and cut in a fired a shot on net.  The puck went over the Durham goalies blocker and bent the twine!!  1-0 Muskies!!
Lindsay started to take control of the play in the 2nd period with most of the period being played in the Crusaders end of the ice.
The Durham goalie proved to have a great glove hand on this day and he gobbled up shot after shot with his quick glove.
Halfway through the 2nd, Lindsay found itself shorthanded due to a questionable tripping penalty.  Durham was unable to take advantage of the power play...our penalty killers managed to stymie any threats the Crusaders attempted in our zone.
With 4:51 left in the period and with 1:11 left in the Durham power play...Owen D. stole the puck in the Crusaders zone and had a breakaway to the net.  Instead of attempting a deke, he fired the puck over the net minders blocker and into the net.  2-0 Lindsay!!!!
Lindsay came out in the 3rd period and showed confidence and patience as the defence again shut down the Crusaders offence time and time again.  The defence had the big forwards figured out and ensured that they limited any shots on net coming from them.
Any shots that did get through were steered aside or swallowed up by our goalie tandem of Josh O. and Wes I...who would go on to post their 4th shut out of the season!!!
Back to the game.....with only 2:24 left to play in the game...Jarrett B. took the puck in the right corner and passed the puck in front to Josh G.  The Durham goalie made the save but the rebound landed right on the stick of Owen V. who made no mistake by firing the puck into the left side of the open net.  3-0 Muskies!!!!!

Our next game will be a rematch with the Lightning!
