Game 26 vs Manvers
Thursday night marked our final regular season matchup with the Manvers Mustangs.
The last meeting between these two was a close game that the Mustangs took 2-0.
The season series was 1-1 in Exhibition and 1-1 in Regular season play...This game would rubber match and could ultimately decide who would take the Head to Head title.

The puck dropped at 5:36 and the 1st period was back and forth, end to end...with the majority of the play being played in the neutral zone.
The defence of Steven T., Jackson Q, Jack E. and Tyson N. kept the Mustang offence in the corners and limited the amount of time spent in our own end and any shots that did make it to our net..were steered aside by our net minders.
At the end of Period 1..the score was 0-0, with no team having an advantage of any kind.
With just 18 seconds played in the 2nd period...Josh G. fired the puck to Owen V., who raced down the left side and cut in front of the net and fired the puck over the Manvers goalies blocker side. 1-0 Lindsay!
The Mustangs did not give up and just under a minute later..they made their way into the Muskies end and fired one past our netminder to tie the game up. 1-1
With 1:46 left in the 2nd period; the Mustangs would again enter the Lindsay zone and managed to move the puck around before passing it in front of the net.  A melee ensued and after a couple of great saves..a Manvers player managed to fire a rebound into the open side to take the lead.  2-1 Mustangs.
Our Muskies did not give up and Coach Perrin made some line changes that inspired them and had them moving faster and harder.
With only 45 seconds left in the 2nd Period...Jarrett B. passed the puck to Josh G. who raced towards the net and fired a wrist shot into the net to tie the game up.  2-2!!!
When the puck dropped for the 3rd period...our Muskies took control of the puck and managed to keep the play in the Manvers end for the majority of the period.
With 5:50 left to play, Tyler P. took the puck down the left side and fired it on net.  The Manvers goalie managed to make the first save and the rebound went out to Josh G. who buried it into the open side.  3-2 Muskies!!!!!
41 seconds later, Owen V. again struck as he moved in on the Mustang netminder and deked him out of his shorts before firing the puck into the net to give our Muskies a 2 goal lead.  4-2 Lindsay!!!!!!
The first half of the game was not our Muskies best performance, nor was it their worst.  However, the second half of the game saw a more inspired play and one that the fans were more accustomed to watching.
Our defence was solid and managed to limit any scoring chances...any shots that did make it through were either steered aside or swallowed up by our goalies.
Our forwards moved the puck much better and controlled the play for the majority of the 2nd half of the game.
We look forward to carrying this momentum forward against the Crusaders on Saturday.
