Game 29 vs Brock
Friday Feb 10 would mark the last regular season game for the Lindsay Muskies Teal and it would be played on the cursed Pad 2.
The final game would also be the second half of the Home and Home against the ever improving Brock Wild team.

The first half of the season Brock was 2-12-2...so far the second half of the season showed a much improved Brock team with a record of 5-6-2.  Many of Brock's losses were one goal games and they seemed to compete in every game played.
The puck dropped at 7:20 and both teams were equally match with the play going end to end and the defence on both teams was stingy.
With 3:50 remaining in the first; the Wild struck first with a power play goal. 1-0 Brock
However, 17 seconds later our Muskies drove down the ice and into the Brock zone.  The Brock defence attempted to clear the zone but the puck was stopped at the line by Jack E.
Jack E. fired the puck on the net and the rebound went to Owen D. who was also stopped...Sammy T. grabbed the second rebound and buried it into the back of the net to tie the game.  1-1!!!!!
With the period winding down; Brock stole the puck in front of our net and capitalized to take a 2-1 lead with only 43 seconds left.
The second period was another back and forth affair as both teams took turns moving the puck and battling on the boards.
3 minutes into the second period; Steven T. cleared the zone with a break out pass to Ian K.  Ian K. raced down the right side and fired the puck on the net from inside the hash mark.
The rebound went to the left of the Brock netminder and onto the stick of Tyler P., who was perfectly positioned.  Tyler P. made no mistake and fired the puck into the open side of the net to tie the game up once again.  2-2!!!!
Brock did not back down and with only 3:15 left in the 2nd period, they managed to take the lead again and put the pressure on our Muskies.  3-2
The 3rd period again was evenly matched with our Muskies looking better and stronger as the game went on.
With 1:45 played in the period, Jack E. passed the puck up to Kiera W. who broke through the neutral zone and started to weave around Wild players.  She looked up and passed the puck over to Tyler P. who fired the puck over the blocker side of the Brock goalie to once again tie the game up.  3-3!!!!!!!!
The game again went back and forth with our Muskies having some good scoring opportunities only to be thwarted by the Brock goalie.
With 5 seconds left in the game the Wild managed to back up our defence and squeeze one into our net to take a 4-3 lead.
It was a heart breaking loss for our Muskies as they battled hard against a much improved Brock Wild team.

On the bright side...the weekend will be full of practices..including the ice time the team won at the Liftlock Tournament Skills Competition.

Although the regular season is now officially over...the season is not over!!!!!
The playoffs will begin next week and our Muskies will take a run at the A Championship after a solid season!

Congrats to all the players, coaches and parents on a fantastic regular season and lets take it all!
