Reg season over and International Siver Stick
The regular season is now over, and we finished on a little bit of a winning streak. We have now won 29 games in a row, finishing first place in our division and going undefeated for the year, 27 points ahead of the next team behind us. We will now go into the playoffs this week in the tier 1 'A' group against Sturgeon, Mariposa and Durham. we will play each team twice then the top 2 teams will play for the 'A' DIVISION cup in the best 2 out of 3 final. We also have a tournament next weekend in Stirling.

It has been an unbelievable season so far. This has been one of those years you never want to end, mainly because of the work ethic, passion, heart, and the incredible ability to win no matter what circumstances are thrown at them.

We went to the International Silver stick Championships in early January to play all the regional champions from all over North America. This is a real Cinderella story here. they travelled to the Niagara falls area missing their head coach, one of their top scores and a very solid defenseman. So they ended up with a roster of 10 skaters, 4 of them being atom age and only 4 2nd year peewees. Their task at hand was definitely going to be the hardest they had to overcome this year. Like I've been saying all year, these boys never quit. They won the preliminary round finding themselves in the semi- finals against a team from Mooretown that had a player that scored 30 goals in 4 games in this tournament,{ our coaches told me that he was best player they have seen in years}. He ended up  scoring  6 goals against us, but with just 11 seconds left in the game William{wink} Kirkpatrick scored for us beating them 7-6. Parents and coaches told me that it was the best minor game they have ever witnessed. I was watching the game on Face time from my balcony in Jamaica, wishing I was there. This moved us to the finals against a team from Point Edward who had a record of 32-0 going into this game. This game went back and forth and with just over 2 minutes left Kelvin Kearns scored the biggest goal of his life making it 3-2 for the Muskies. But our boys don't do anything the easy way, seconds later Rhys Walden received a penalty,{only his second all year}. With their goalie pulled and a powerplay, our net minder,Josh Watson, made several key saves to bring home the gold back to Lindsay. Great job by all the boys and the coaches.
