Mariposa Tournament Champions
Muskie White travelled to Oakwood for a weekend tournament.
They first game was a tough and undiscipline game against league rivals Kawartha which saw them on the wrong end of a 4 -1 score.In their second game they played the Leafs, from Orono, it started off badly for the team falling down 2-0 early. The team eventually started to play as a team and came to the realization that games are won with teamwork. The Muskie scored three unanswered goals to win their second game of the tournament. In their third game of the day the faced a good team from Northumberland. Again Lindsay was down 2-0 but again came back to win 4-2. The win was again the result of team play. With the win they were guaranteed a spot in the A final on Sunday. In the A final Lindsay was again matched up against their rivals from Kawartha. This was a much different game. The muskies played like champions and demonstrated great discipline. This was the best game the team played in the tournament and one of the best all season. Lindsay came away with a 5-1 victory and claiming the A Championship.
The Muskies continue the regular season with a home game on Tuesday vs Millbrook. Game time is 7:45pm.
