Walt McKechnie Novice Rep Fall Classic
On Saturday November 18 and Sunday November 19/ 2017 The Novice BB Muskies took part in the Walt McKechnie Novice Rep Fall Classic.
Game # 1: The Muskies squad would take on the North Bay Trappers and pull out the 2-1 victory on goals by Ethan Yurick # 17 and Ethan Chapman # 87. Great Job boys!!!
Game # 2: The Muskies squad would face off against the Petawawa Patriots. The Muskies would jump out to an early 1- 0 lead on a goal by Hayden Runge # 7 but it was all Patriots from there as they scored 11 straight times unanswered to take the 11-1 victory.
It was then off to Walt's old establishment for dinner where Walt would come and interact with the team, Thanks Walt!!!!
Game # 3: The Muskies would face off against the West Mall Lightning and again the Muskies could not score and were handed the loss 3-0
Game # 4 C Championship: The Muskies would face off Sunday Morning for the C championship against the North Bay squad again. The Muskies would jump out to a 2-0 lead on goals by Ethan Yurick # 17 assisted by Riley MacLean # 4 and Liam Williams #15 and another from Hayden Runge # 7 assisted by Gavin Fyke # 11. The Trappers would narrow the gap to 1 late in the second and add another in the third to tie the game 2-2. In overtime the Muskies would take a penalty and have to play Overtime short handed and managed to play right up until it went down to 2 on 1. Even then Ethan Yurick # 17 managed to ring one off the crossbar. But the Trappers capitalized and went down 2 on 0 against Xavier Evans # 29 and sneak one by him for the overtime win and the C championship. Great tourney team !!!!!!!!!!!!!
