Season Finisher - Victory!
Another exciting game and sweet victory to close out the regular season! The Muskies defeated Brock 2-1 last night.
Lindsay appeared to be a little bit challenged in the first period yet held off Brock and the scoreboard remained 0-0. Outnumbered by shots on goal, #31 Jack Dermedy was quick in the net stopping the puck including a power play for Brock.
Into the 2nd period.........
the Muskies were doing well to match Brock despite 2 penalties, and after an untimely turnover, the Muskies were down by 1. This seemed to fire them up with determination and only a moment later, and well positioned, #19 Caitlyn Johnston set up a beautiful pass (taking the assist) for #77 Tyler Perrin to put it in the net over the goalies shoulder.
Period 3 was back and forth, and the score remained 1-1 until later in the third with several opportunities for both teams to score, #31 Jack Dermedy still a machine in the net, only making fans nervous once stepping out of the net to pass the puck - but he knew what he was doing! The Muskies were not able to score on their one power play. With just over 5 mins to go, the Muskies were on a penalty kill, held the score and then with only 1 minute on the clock and some puck work by both #88 Alex Gyr (goal) and #77 Tyler Perrin (assist), the Muskies took the lead. 30 seconds later Lindsay took another penalty but held strong to finish out the game 2-1.
Way to go Muskies as they finish the regular season as Victoria-Durham in first place.
