Shut the Front Door! Muskies vs Mariposa Round 2
Little Britain experienced 'White-out' conditions the evening of Thursday December 7th when the Lindsay Muskies Atom White team met with the Mariposa Lightning team for the second time this year, and shut them out in a 6-0 victory.

After a close game and 2-1 score over Mariposa in November, the Lightning came to the game ready to strike and eager for a win. Unlike their first match up of the year, the beginning of this game played out differently, with a lot of action in the Mariposa end. Lindsay's Keira Watson #11 scored the 1st goal at the 5 minute mark and then another quick one right after it, ending the first period with a solid lead.

Into the 2nd period, Mariposa put the pressure on and fought furiously to push their opponents back, but quick reactions from Muskies defencemen Nathan Wooldridge #15 and Sean Hayman #17 shut down their attempts. 2 more goals from Nathan Sanderson #29 in the final moments of the period made Mariposa nervous and they battled back with full force. Defenseman Ethan Peterson #14 did all that he could to hold them back, but found himself warming the bench in the penalty box. The Lightning were unable to strike on the powerplay and the buzzer sounded, ending the period.

The intermission was brief; Mariposa picked up where they left off, pushing Lindsay out of their end, trying desperately to break through, but the Atom White team remained grounded and protected their zone. Enforcer Madison Raymond #16 strongly held the Muskies blue line as her teammates ruled the neutral zone. Tensions mounted quickly and Mariposa was unable to score on yet another powerplay that saw Nathan Wooldridge #15 take a seat in the box on a 2 minute tripping call. 2 more goals for the Muskies finished the game with a final score of 6-0, ending their 2 week road trip on a 5 game winning streak.

Congratulations to player of the game, Madison Raymond #16! Your quick defensive moves kept the puck out of our end and away from our goaltender, assisting Alexis Kostashuk #1 in her 1st regular season shut out!
