A Colour Conundrum: Is the Jersey White or Teal?
#TheJersey colour has sparked a fierce debate with fans who are seeing it as either white and black or teal and white. But a reveal on Muskies Day, Saturday December 9th, had the crowd believing that it was indeed teal and white, as both of Lindsay's atom teams went head to head in a highly anticipated game.

The stands were packed, the music was loud, and the players couldn't wait to hit the ice! Friendly banter between familiar friends in the hallways turned to serious game faces after a handshake and a raise of the referees hand.

Keira Watson #11 opened the game with the 1st goal for the Lindsay Muskies Atom White team at the top of the 1st period; 27 seconds later, Teal's Conner Swann #17 swiftly tied things up. Both teams battled back and forth as the puck moved from end to end. It was a tense 7 minutes for fans until the Atom Teal team scored again, assisted by Raina Wilson #15. Moments later, with Teal's Jack Thurston #8 in the penalty box, the White team went out on the powerplay and a buzzer beater from Nathan Sanderson #29 with 7 seconds left on the clock tied the game, 2-2, and ended the 1st period.

Into the 2nd, Teal's Lucas McIntyre #7 scored 2 quick goals, gaining the lead. The crowd cheered when White responded by putting another one on the board at the midway point, temporarily narrowing the point spread. Defenceman Ethan Peterson #14 quickly picked up a pass but unfortunately was shut down by Teal's Connor Fraser #5 in the neutral zone. Again, 2 more goals from the Teal team, the 1st of which was scored by Olivia Berthelot #8, ended the 2nd period with a 6-3 score for Teal.

There was no time for pleasantries as the goalies switched ends and the 3rd period got underway. The Atom White team flexed some muscle as Drake Robinson-West #9 quickly added to his team's tally. It was a race to the finish after that, and White's defence couldn't hold them off as Teal sealed the deal with less than 30 seconds to go in the game. The Lindsay Muskies Atom White team's 5 game winning streak came to an end as they fell to their home team opponents in a midseason loss, 7-4.

The Lindsay Muskies Atom White team hits the road once again on Saturday December 16th as they face off in their first game against the Millbrook Stars. Puck drops at 11:30am!
