The Second Crusade: Lindsay White vs Durham Green
The Crusaders were on the warpath and looking for a win the evening of Monday Feb.12 when the Durham Green team traveled north to Lindsay to face off against the Muskies for the 2nd time this season.

Unfortunately, that win slipped through their grasp when Devon Moynes #8 kicked off a 1st period domination by scoring one of 5 Muskies goals against the Crusaders. Durham was reeling from the fast back and forth play but still managed to squeeze past Ethan Thompson #6 in a battle at the boards and sneak one by Lindsay’s goaltender to put a mark the board for their team in the last 2 minutes of the period.

Into the 2nd, the Muskies had perfected their setups as Ross Kostashuk #2 moved into the slot and scored on a maneuver originally orchestrated from the blue line by Ethan Peterson #14. After that, the onslaught of goals tapered off but things started to get rough as the Crusaders attempted to prevent the Muskies from moving the puck. It worked for a bit and they were able to score a second goal, but it was quickly chased by another unassisted from Lindsay’s Drake Robinson-West #9.

The Muskies were beginning to feel rattled in the 3rd and allowed 2 more goals for the Durham Green team to trickle past their netminder. They didn’t let it get to them for too long though, and by adopting their new motto of showing them on the board, they let the Crusaders know how they felt by sinking 4 more goals deep in the Durham net to finish the game, 11-4.

Congratulations player of the game Jaxson Leith #5 who demonstrated great effort in puck movement and his positional play!
