In The End: Lindsay Muskies vs Woodville Hurricanes
The Lindsay Muskies Atom White team ended their regular season at home and finished on a winning streak with a 6-1 win over the Woodville Hurricanes on Saturday Feb.17.

This season brought these two teams together now in four separate matchups and the Muskies were happy to play their final game against some familiar faces. With a short bench, the Hurricanes came out strong in the first period, eager to score that first goal, and that’s exactly what they did. Woodville held firm on their defence as Lindsay fought hard to break through. Eventually, Jaxson Leith #5 picked up a puck cleared by Madison Raymond #16 and went all the way with it tying the game 1-1. Then Nathan Sanderson #29 would score the go ahead goal ending the period 2-1 Muskies.

The Hurricanes knew that this would be an endurance race for them and started off the 2nd period striving for the same level of stamina that they had in the 1st. They didn’t earn any more points on the scoreboard, but they held off their opponent for as long as they could, all the while continuing to push the pressure on the Lindsay zone. The Muskies did manage another goal near the end of the period though, assisted by Sean Hayman #17 and Ethan Peterson #14.

Eventually, the reserve in the tanks ran empty and midway through the 3rd period Tristan Shiers #10 surprised Woodville with a breakaway goal that opened the doors for Keira Watson #11 to swoop in and seize an opportunity with 2 more for the Muskies for the win.

Congratulations player of the game, Tristan Shiers #10, for your impressive positional play in this game!

Undefeated since the beginning of December, the Lindsay Muskies Atom White team earned 3rd place in the league atom division with 38 points on an impressive 11 regular games winning streak! They move on to play in the Three County ‘B’ Championship round with Brock Township Red, Durham Crusaders Green, and the Lindsay Muskies Teal teams. Catch all of the action in their first playoff game on Monday February 26th at 7:30pm in Lindsay against their hometown rivals: Lindsay Muskies Atom Teal!
