Playoff Game #3: Muskies Atom White vs Brock Wild Red
The Brock Wild Red team came to Lindsay ready for the challenge in the Muskies Atom White team’s 3rd game of the Atom B playoff series on Thursday Mar.1st.

The Muskies realized quickly into the first period that they were up against an ambitious opponent as they fought hard to keep the Wild out of their zone. Nathan Wooldridge #15 was consistent with his back passing of the puck out of the Lindsay zone, and on a setup from Drake Robinson-West #9, Keira Watson #11 picked up the puck and scored the 1st goal of the game. Brock won the next faceoff though and with a fast setup of their own, tied things up only seconds later.

The Brock Wild Red team continued their push against Lindsay and forced the Muskies into a defensive position for the entire second period. After a lot of action in the Lindsay zone, Brock was able to gain the lead over the Muskies with a 2nd goal. Their defence was strong and protected that lead for the rest of the period; anything that Lindsay was able to break through with, their goaltender stood on his head and stopped every attempt at the net.

Into the 3rd, Brock held their focus on Lindsay’s top scorers but didn’t see it coming when Devon Moynes #8 was keen on the setup from Keira Watson #11 and Jaxson Leith #5, picking up the pass and burying the puck in the net, once again tying the game. He did this once more when he picked up the back pass from Nathan Sanderson’s #29 win on the faceoff and scored the go ahead goal for the Muskies! Lindsay held firm to that lead as Brock tried relentlessly to break through. In the last 2 minutes, the crowd went Wild as Brock tied the score on the breakaway. The Muskies were determined to get the score back in their favor as Nathan Sanderson #29 skated hard for their net with the puck but time was not on his side and the buzzer blew before he could take the shot. Each team received a point for the tie and after a battle of the goaltenders, the Brock Wild Red team went home with the satisfaction of being the only team to break the Muskies Atom White winning streak since Lindsay Teal back in December!
