Game 3: vs Brock
Tuesday October 9, 2018 would be the first meeting of the season between the Brock Wild and our Lindsay Muskies
Our boys were 2-0 and Pad 2 would be the scene for their 3rd game of the year against a tough rivalry.
The puck dropped at about 7:50pm and it didn't take long for the scoring to begin.
With less than a minute ticked off the clock, Jack E. took the puck from behind his own net and passed it up the boards to Josh G. Josh skated past centre and moved into the Brock zone and passed the puck over to Owen V. who was skating down the middle.
Owen V. sniped the puck over the Brock goalies glove hand for his first goal of this young season.!
Lindsay 1-0!
The play continued to weigh heavily in our Muskies favour but they couldn't seem to solve the Brock goalie as he made save after save after save.
The game was getting a little tense as Lindsay had a 1-0 lead and they couldn't seem to put another marker on the board to provide a little comfort.
With 2:21 seconds left in the 1st period, the Brock team attempted to clear the puck up the middle and it was intercepted by Jackson Q. who passed it over to Wyatt M. just inside the blue line. Wyatt fired the puck on net through a crowd of players in front and managed to find the low right side of the net. 2-0 Muskies!!!
The Brock goalie was beginning to get tired with the barrage of shots our Muskies were peppering him with. With only 1:18 left in the 3rd, Landin M. took the puck and headed to the net and made no mistake. 3-0 Muskies!!!
The 2nd period would again see the ice tilted in Lindsay's favour as our Muskies continued to attack in waves.
With 10:23 to go in the 2nd, Josh G. picked up the puck on our side of centre and wheeled past a couple of Brock defenders and started going wide on the right side. He beat the last defence and cut towards the net and flipped a shot over the blocker side of the goalie. 4-0 Lindsay!
With only 1:52 left in the 2nd, Jackson Q. took the puck in his own end and began to move down the ice on a big rush. He cut inside and outside of Brock defenders before coming down the right side of the ice and sniping a goal into the top corner over the Brock netminders blocker. 5-0 Muskies!!! End of the 2nd.
Brock came out in the 3rd period with a little more get up and with 9:50 to play, they managed to get a squeaker past us to get themselves on the board. 5-1 Lindsay.
That would be the end of their offence however, as Justin flashed the glove a few times to show the Brock team that he was not rattled by their "lucky" goal.
The Lindsay offence was just too much for the Brock team and they would manage to put two more scores on the board before the buzzer sounded to end the game.
Tyler P. would steal the puck from another errant clearing attempt by the Brock defence and would wrist the puck past the goalies left hand side to put this game on ice. 6-1 Muskies!!!!
Josh G. would add a final tally with only 31 seconds to play for his 2nd of the game as he seemed to be everywhere on the ice this night. 7-1 Lindsay
Our Muskies skated hard and the passing was in abundance which took the Brock team off balance and enabled the constant pressure they would endure.
Three quick games and three straight wins! The tough part is that the next game will not be for another 15 days :(
