Game 6: vs Durham
Firstly, I apologize for the delay in the delayed write-ups :)  I have a great memory and so it won't be difficult to recap after a couple weeks
Back to the action!!
Oct 27, 2018....Our 6th game would take place at the McKinney arena.  This was my first visit to this venue and I thought it was a great arena with a good atmosphere.

The puck dropped at 12:13 and there were high hopes that our Muskies would come out scoring after a tough previous game against Mariposa.
Lindsay was taking control of the play for most of the 1st period..they were putting pressure on the Durham defence who couldn't seem to get the puck out of their end.
With 7:45 to play in the first our Muskies were working the puck in the Crusaders end when Wyatt M. took control of the puck and circled and passed i back to Tyson N. at the point.
Tyson fired a perfect shot..low on the ice, through the crowd in front of the net and he caught the right side of the net to give us the lead.  1-0 Muskies!!!
More importantly...this would be Tyson's first goal since tyke!!! He has come very close since I have watched him play over the past 3 years. He has hit the post a few times..he has shot just wide...this was a big goal!!!! Congrats Tyson!!!!!
With 4:09 left in the 1st period, Josh G. passed the puck to Wyatt M. who fired it back to Jack E. at the point.
Jack E. fired the puck at the net and beat the Crusader goalie glove side.  Another fantastic show of puck control and passing in the offensive end and another great shot to give Lindsay a bigger lead.  2-0 Lindsay!
Durham started to shown a little sign of life in the last couple of minutes of the 1st and after their sluggish start to the game, they manage to squeak one by us with only 1:36 left in the 1st to cut the lead to 1.  2-1 Lindsay
The 2nd period started and the play was less one sided and began to go back and forth with the Crusaders playing harder than they had in the 1st.
With 13:13 left in the 2nd..Tyson N. took the puck at the point and fired a shot along the ice towards the net.  Owen D. managed to get his stick on it for a great deflection that ended up going over the goalies left shoulder and hitting the top corner.  3-1 Muskies!!!!!
The kids have been practicing deflections and getting in front of the goalie all season so far, so it was great to see that practice pay off.
Unfortunately, ten seconds later the Crusaders would come down the ice and would send two to the net while their left winger grabbed the puck and fired it on our goal.  The rebound squirted out and one of the Durham players tapped it in the open side.  3-2 Lindsay.
With 9:56 left in the 2nd...it was deja-vu....two men to the net and this time the right winger fired the puck on goal and the rebound was tapped in. 3-3
The 3rd period was a period where our team could never seem to get the right bounces.  The puck would be off by an inch from where we needed it to be...the refs would get in the way of the puck and would prevent us from getting momentum.
With 8:08 left to play in the 3rd....Durham would break past our defence and would finish with a great deak and a goal on the left side.  4-3 Durham.
There was another squeaker that barely made it past the line and then there was an empty netter to seal the deal for the Home team.
The final score Durham 6  Lindsay 3.
There were a few lucky goals in this game and a bunch of bad bounces that had it gone the other way..would have helped our side.
This is a team we can and will beat moving forward!!!!!!!!
Our next game will be our first against the Ennismore Eagles Tuesday Oct 30!
