Game 9: vs Brock
A beautiful Sunday afternoon on Pad 1 would see Lindsay face off for the 2nd time against the Brock Wild with the chance to win its 3rd straight game.

Lindsay had defeated Ennismore and Newcastle with ease but it was noted that the passing was starting to disappear again.  The passing and utilization of a strong defence was the key to our Muskies victories in the past and it would be the key to future victories.
The Muskies would begin the game with very little passing; there was a lot solo rushes that would be quickly turned away by the Wild defence and they began to catch on that our Muskies were abandoning their winning formula.
The 1st period ended in high frustrations for the parents and coaching staff and our boys failed to get on the board and did not have a great deal of opportunities against the Brock goalie.
At the end of 1...it was 0-0
The 2nd period would look a little more promising...with only 1:29 to play in the period Wyatt M. would take control of the puck at his own blue line and would pass it over to Owen V. who was racing down the left side.  Owen V. went to the outside and then cut in at the hash marks and snapped the puck over the glove hand of the Wild goalie.  1-0 Lindsay!!!
Unfortunately, there would be no time to celebrate as the Brock offence came back down the ice to tie the game 12 seconds later!  1-1
The 2nd period would be more one man rushes that at times would leave our defence open for attack.
With 7:12 to play in the 2nd period Tyler P. would steal the puck in the offensive zone and would fire the puck blocker side to give the Muskies a lead.  2-1 Muskies!!!
With only 2:05 to play in the 2nd period he Wild again would take advantage of our Muskies sloppy play and would break in to tie the game once again.  2-2
The 2nd period would end in a 2-2 tie and the zamboni entered the arena to provide the home crowd and coaches some relief from a frustrating 2 periods of play.
The 3rd period saw our Muskies move with a little more determination but again, the passing and teamwork was lacking and the Wild team was able to shut down the lone man rushes with relative ease.
With 10:23 left in the period Tyler P. grabbed a loose puck in front of the Brock net and slid it under the netminders pad!!!  3-2 Lindsay!!!!
Once again, the Wild players did not give up and they continued to expose our Muskies form and they would start to control the play.
With 4:57 left to play in the 3rd period, Brock moved down the ice with all three forwards entering the zone....two went strong to the net and after a brilliant save by Justin M., the second Wild player was positioned perfectly for the rebound and buried it into the open net.  3-3
Brock would have a few opportunities to take the lead and potentially win the game but Justin M. kept the rubber out of the net and ensured our Muskies left the arena with a tie and a big point.
The coaches closed the door after the game and had a long chat about teamwork and passing....Our Muskies would have a much needed practice before the next game against the tough Sturgeon team
