61st Annual Atom Liftlock Tourney
On Friday January 10th/2020 The Atom BB Muskies would play their first game of the 61st Atom Liftlock Tourney against The Fort Erie Jr. Meteors at the Evinrude centre in Peterborough. The Muskies would battle hard and come out on top with a 3-0 win thanks to a solid performance from Xavier Evans #29 between the pipes.
On Saturday morning The Muskies would travel to Millbrook to face the Parry Sound Jr. Shamrocks, with a win the Muskies would earn a spot in the Championship Semi-final, but it was not to be on this morning as the Muskies were looking for 4 leaf clovers instead of hunting down the Shamrocks. As a result the Muskies would fall 3-2 and put their fate in the hands of others. On Saturday afternoon The Muskies would travel to Bewdley to face their first round playoff opponent The Stirling Blues. The Muskies were hoping for a win and a Parry Sound loss in their game against the Meteors. But it was not to be as Parry Sound would tie the Meteors. On the bright side the Muskies would handle their opponent quite easily with a 7-2 win, even though they played half the game short handed. With the win the Muskies would earn a birth into the Consolation Semi-Final on Sunday morning against The Newcastle Stars. The Muskies would handle The Stars with ease and walk away with a 4-0 victory and a birth into the Consolation Championship against The Ennismore Eagles on Sunday afternoon at the Evinrude Centre. The Muskies would come out slow and soft in this matchup and let the ship slip through the Liftlock launch and be handed a 4-2 loss giving Ennismore the season series and the Consolation Championship.
