Mite Tournament "A" Finalists
Submitted

Saturday March 22 marked day one of our Mite end-of-season tournament. Lindsay's first draw of the day was Brock White. Brock was undefeated this season, but Lindsay Black was up for the challenge. After being down three goals in the first two minutes of the game, it looked bleak. During the season, Lindsay Black has never given up in a game. Down 6-2 at one point in the game, Lindsay battled back and scored the game tying goal with less than two minutes left in the third period. What a show of guts and determination against a tough team. The final score was 8-8. In our second game of the ...

Tuesday evening found Lindsay Black visiting Cannington for a make-up game against Brock Green. These two teams matched up so evenly this season that both games ended with the score tied. The final score in this contest was 5-5. With every player on Lindsay Black giving their best performance of the season, it gives the parents and coaches a great sense of pride. What a great way to finish off the regular season and we look forward to the Mite tournament this weekend. Brock Green is our first opponent, which should make for a great game. See you all there.

Sturgeon Thunder visited Lindsay on Sunday morning. With wholesale changes to the line-up, Lindsay's forwards played defence and vice-versa. With the action being fairly one sided, it was nice to see all players adjust quickly to there new and unfamiliar positions. Our regular goaltender Keegan Dunn even played out and the defence covered his duties very well. Congratulations to Keegan for scoring his first career goal, not bad for a net-minders first game out this year. Also congratulations to Abdul Alfahd on scoring his first and second career goals in the same game! That means every player ...

In a Lindsay on Lindsay showdown, the action was fast and furious right out of the gate. Lindsay Black came out firing early making the score 4-1 at the end of the first period. Lindsay Teal was not without their chances, but fantastic goal tending by Keegan Dunn kept them off the scoreboard most of the way through the second period. Teal tried to mount a comeback in the third by putting up three unanswered goals but ran out of time leaving Lindsay Black victorious. The score did not reflect the effort of both teams. It's nice to see how far all of the Lindsay players have come this season. ...

Sunday morning had Lindsay Black hosting Woodville. Although Woodville was out numbered, they are never out-gunned. The score was 3-2 for Lindsay after the first period with both sides getting a lot of scoring chances. In the end Lindsay's offensive effort won the day. Great attitude and effort by all players, good job Lindsay Black.
