To All LMHA Members
LMHA has recently been approached by Kawartha Minor Hockey Association to engage in talks with their association’s committee to pursue the amalgamation of our minor hockey associations in to one.
At a recent Special Meeting of the LMHA Executive Committee and Board of Directors a motion was put to a vote an agreement of commitment to enter in to these proposed talks.
I am pleased to report that the vote was carried and we are preparing to enter in to these discussions.
To be clear these are only talks between committees struck by the intending associations, there will be both many details to work out as well as many choices to be considered.
If you are interested in what the amalgamation process entails please visit the OMHA website and view the information packages they have contained there.
The proposed joining of our associations has the potential for garnering many positive outcomes for both Players and Parents.
While the process will take some time to work out it is expected that both parties have a mutual interest in completing the process as quickly and seamlessly as possible.
As the process unfolds more information will be provided to our members, questions will be answered and in due course a vote will be held by all members to endorse or not endorse the joining of the associations.
These should be considered as exciting times for our Association, our Players and our Community.
Yours In Hockey;
Peter Mitchell
