Information for U8 Parents
Submitted By Jamie Stone on Tuesday, August 27, 2019
Dear U8 Parents:
U8 includes:
Future Muskies 2015
Initiation Program (IP) 2013 and 2014
Minor Novice (formerly tyke) 2012
Novice LL 2011
Novice Rep (Tryouts were in the spring) 2011

Jason Truax and I worked throughout the summer to establish consistent ice for our U8 players.  We felt like this was important for our players and their families.  Below is some important information from our varying programs:

Future Muskies:  Parent or a Guardian will be asked to join their child on the ice.  As the season progresses Jeff Long, Future Muskies Lead will communicate with you more on this topic.  Your skates will be on Saturday and Sunday mornings throughout the season.  Please see schedule below. However, it is very important for you to the follow the ever changing master schedule found at www.lindsayminorhockey.com.

IP: Again we have asked for consistent ice times.  IP players will be skating Saturday and Sunday morning and Wednesday evenings consistently throughout the season.   During the first few weeks assessments will be taking place.  This will assist us with developing balanced teams.  Players will be skating by birth year until teams are made.  Please do not email us to ask us what team your child is on.  We will let all parents know which team their child will be on and who their coach will be.  Please follow the schedule on the LMHA website.  Players will be participating in a house league program.  This begins in December on Saturday mornings and will follow an on ice development skate. Powerskating will be provided to all IP players 12x by Jeff Long on Sunday mornings.  This will run for 6 weeks commencing in October.  More information to follow.

Minor Novice (tyke): Again we have asked for consistent ice times.  Minor Novice players will be skating Saturday and Sunday morning and Tuesday evenings consistently throughout the season.   During the first few weeks assessments will be taking place.  This will assist us with developing balanced teams. All players will skate together.  Please do not email us to ask us what team your child is on.  We will let all parents know which team their child will be on and who their coach will be.  Please follow the schedule on the LMHA website.  Players will be participating in a local league program which will have us playing against other local centres.  This begins later in the season. Powerskating will be provided to all Minor Novice players 12x by Jeff Long on Sunday mornings.  This will run for 6 weeks commencing in October.  More information to follow.

Novice LL - You will be contacted by your coach in a timely fashion.

Novice Rep - Your coach will communicate the details of your season.

Draft Schedule - (Consistent throughout the season) is found in the link below.

Hoping this planning helps you and your family.  Any questions, let us know.

Jason Truax and Jamie Stone.
