Hello all Lindsay Minor Hockey and Kawartha Minor Hockey association members. Exciting times are upon us as we proceed with the partnership planning that is currently pending OMHA approval. As such, the partnership working group has agree to proceed with the coach selection process for all representative teams. The process details and important dates are as follows:
Important Dates:
Coaching application available for completion and submission- March 6th or 7th
Coaching application submission deadline- March 27th
Coach Interviews- March 30th to April 3rd
Coach selection notification will take place immediately upon completion of the coach selection process
Selection Process Details:
Applicants for the Head Coach position will be contacted for an interview with the Coaching Selection Committee.
Applicants must be prepared to speak about:
- Their past coaching, training and/or managing experiences and philosophies.
- Season hockey development plan
- Hockey system
- Coaching philosophy and interpersonal skills
- Communication skills
Head coaches will be selected before spring tryouts.
Plan to be prepared for a short turn around
All applications will be contacted with results of the selection process
All successful applicants will be subject to a police background check.

The partnership working group feels it’s important to support the newly selected coaches by providing nonpartisan tryout selection committee members to assist the coaching staff members during the team selection process. These committee members will be present during all tryouts to help facilitate and evaluate the players during these challenging times.
