COVID-19 Update from OMHA
Submitted By MaryAnne Wooldridge on Friday, March 13, 2020
From the OMHA March 12, 2020

As we support Hockey Canada's decision to immediately cancel all Hockey Canada-sanctioned activities until further notice, we have created a list of answers to some frequently asked questions for our Associations.
Further information will be communicated to our members when it becomes available. We will reach out parents with a specific FAQ in the coming days as further decisions are made.
If you have any questions please reach out to the OMHA office.

What types of activities fall under this cancellation?
All on-ice and off-ice activities are immediately cancelled including OMHA Championships, League Championships, practices, games, tournaments, clinics, AGMs, end of year banquets and any other team gatherings.

Will Championships and any other games during the season be played?
Unfortunately, the 2019-20 season is cancelled.

What is the timeline for spring tryouts?
The timelines for tryouts will be determined at a later date and communicated to all Associations as emerging information becomes available.

We have teams that signed up for a tournament. Can they get their money back?
The OMHA will reimburse any tournament sanction fees and travel permit fees. Associations/teams will need to contact the tournament organizer for specific refund information.

Our Association is scheduled to host a clinic. Will these continue?
As all hockey activities are cancelled, these include OMHA coach qualification clinics and professional development opportunities. The OMHA office will work with coordinators, instructors and host associations on rescheduling clinics and providing alternative options to registered participants once we understand the path forward.

Where can we direct inquiries about updates?
The OMHA has created a resource page (OMHA.net/COVID-19) which will be continually updated with new information that is distributed to our membership.
