Dan Burns Memorial Family Day Weekend Tournament
Our Dan Burns Memorial Family Day Classic Tournament is this weekend at the Lindsay Recreation Complex.
It is a privilege and an honor for Lindsay Minor Hockey to host this tournament in memory of Dan Burns. Dan has always been a big supporter of Lindsay Minor Hockey through the years.
When talking to the Burns family about Dan these are some of the things that they had to say about him. Dan loved hockey! He was a 3rd generation Lindsay hockey player following in the footsteps of his grandfather Mike and father Dave. Dan started playing at a young age and was as an offensive defenseman. : He played junior hockey with the Lindsay Muskies and the Little Britain Merchants. He loved the sport but more importantly loved the camaraderie with his teammates. He made lifelong friendships through this sport and continued to play in local men’s leagues and cherished the annual pond hockey tournament in Deerhurst. He would have been honoured that this tournament now bears his name and would want all participants to enjoy this time with your hockey family!
Lindsay Minor Hockey thanks the Burns family for all of their continued support with Lindsay Minor Hockey as well as giving us the honour to host our tournament in memory of Dan.
You can catch all of the action starting Friday morning at 9:15 with the first game being our local U15B Lindsay Muskies team as they take on the Wasaga Beach Stars. Round Robin Games will be running all day Friday and Saturday with semis and finals taking place on Sunday.
