PeeWee Teal, 2016-2017 (Lindsay Minor Hockey)

Since our last update, we travelled to Stirling for the Barry Wilson memorial tournament which we won the 'A' division championship out scoring our opponents 35-2 in 3 games. we also played 6 playoff games winning 5 and tying 1 against a very determined team from Mariposa. We then had to play Mariposa for the championship. we won the first game 6-1 and won the second game 6-0 to win the league title, giving us 47 wins for the season in total. The regular season is now over, and we finished on a little bit of a winning streak. We have now won 29 games in a row, finishing first place in our division and going undefeated for the year, 27 points ahead of the next team behind us. We will now go into the playoffs this week in the tier 1 'A' group against Sturgeon, Mariposa and Durham. we will play each team twice then the top 2 teams will play for the 'A' DIVISION cup in the best 2 out of 3 final. We also have a tournament next weekend in Stirling.

Our first season is over, and what a season it was. we went 16-0, and we were the smallest team in the league and every tournament we played in by  far, probably because we only have 3 second year kids ,7 1st year, 2 atom age kids,and 2 9 year old AP boys,but we also have the biggest hearts. Our boys have never quit all year showing us their determination and team work and adjusting to our different style of coaching strategies that they have never been taught, but executing them to perfection most games.

Since the last update we have won 4 more reg season games to stay undeafeted for the year,, became the A finalists in the Mariposa tourney, and this past weekend travelled to Minden and Haliburton for the prestigious Silver Stick tournament.  we beat Noble king 6-0 then lost 5-3 to a stacked allstar team from Mississauga, then beat Campbleford 7-2 and clobbered Ingersol 7-1 yesterday afternoon. So we then met Mississauga in the final. This team was apparently a select group of the top players made up from 20 teams.they handily breezed through their games dominating their opponents.
