Lindsay Atom Black.....2012/13 Local League 'A' Champions!!!
Congratulations to Lindsay Atom Black for a well earned, hard fought championship series against an evenly matched Kawartha Red team!
After squeaking into the 'A' playoff series, Atom Black went on a winning streak that saw them defeating Sturgeon White in two games by scores of 4-1 and 6-3. Another two games against Kawartha Red ended up with Lindsay out front by scores of 2-1 and 2-1. This determined that Atom Black finished as the top team with Kawartha Red in second and set the schedule for a final 2 out 3 series for the top two teams. Game 1 at home saw Lindsay end up with a 3-2 OT win. A road game in Omemee ended up with a 2-1 loss. Game 3 was an evenly matched event with Kawartha taking the lead early 55 seconds into the game. In true Atom Black fashion they fought hard to tie the game and with only 58 seconds left found the back of the net again for a 2-1 lead which would last to the final buzzer.
Congratulations Spencer, Cole, Mitchell, Ethan, Brayden, Jordyn, Nathan, Vincent, Andrew, Luke and Joel..........you all worked hard all hockey season and certainly earned, and deserve, the 'A' Championship!
