Finishing the Month off in Style

This past Wednesday night, Novice Teal came out flying in a nail-biting game versus Sturgeon Tyke Black. Everyone played hard and brought their "A" game. Nolan Bruno was dashing down the boards like a grizzly young veteran, fighting for pucks all night long. He made lots of terrific plays, but most memborable were his silky tape-to-tape passes. Raymond Thurston and Ryan Peever were a dynamite pairing on defense. They back-checked superbly, their stick work was smooth, and their combined impact on the game was enormous.

Playing Lindsay Novice Black the last 2 games has sure been exciting and lots of fun for the fans and players alike. They edged us out in the first hard fought game posting a 3 to 1 win. Lukas Kennedy and Tyson Forget broke up numerous scoring chances using their speed, sound positioning, and creative stick work. Together, they make a formidable pairing. Tyler Johnston potted our lone goal - but, boy was it a great one! The speedster was a constant scoring threat, while maintaining his defensive responsibilities.

Novice Teal started the new year with a loss to Sturgeon Tyke, but came back with a soothing victory versus Sturgeon Novice two days later. Then, they tied it up against their buddies Lindsay Novice Black. Lose, win, or tie, they always stick together and play hard for each other. After learning a lesson or two, these muskies took it up another notch, chiselling out three straight hard fought victories.

The second half of December saw the Lindsay Novice Teal win one and lose one. In both games, the fearsome muskies battled hard, skated faster than fast, and continued to improve. Caleb Legere continued to demonstrate his solid hockey smarts and skill. In the first game his team missed him, but in the second game he played a strong, two-way, responsible game. The players are resting their engines, but will be getting back to the grind stone this coming Saturday morning. Go Muskies Go!

Lindsay Novice Teal is beginning to gain positive momentum as their last two victories were shutout wins. It has been easy to see that Nolan Bruno has been working out at home - he is skating faster and faster! Jack Newton has also been highly impressive, developing a strong two-way game and using his size to his advantage more often. We are very grateful to the Lindsay JR. A Muskies, who visited our latest practice and showed us how to get even better and a couple secret techniques.
