Black and Teal
Playing Lindsay Novice Black the last 2 games has sure been exciting and lots of fun for the fans and players alike. They edged us out in the first hard fought game posting a 3 to 1 win. Lukas Kennedy and Tyson Forget broke up numerous scoring chances using their speed, sound positioning, and creative stick work. Together, they make a formidable pairing. Tyler Johnston potted our lone goal - but, boy was it a great one! The speedster was a constant scoring threat, while maintaining his defensive responsibilities.
In the second game, we started on fire and our friends met the challenge. Lots of players on both sides had great games with the score ending in a well-deserved tie for both teams. A relatively new forward line of Andrew Smith, Caleb Legere, along with Jack Newton reported ready for action - they were battling hard all morning long. They took their games to a new level, playing with heart and through injuries, while providing some scoring punch! An all-Canadian line, although the manager was overheard saying that she would refuse lending any of them to the Olympic team.
Jonah (Mad-dog) Madsen was simply on fire today, playing stellar defense. He hunted every forward down, made sure the puck got out of our zone, and made numerous stealth passes to his teammates. At one point the referee thought we had too many men on the ice because he thought that he had seen two Mad-dogs.
This team continues to stay positive, battle hard, and work together - a Tealriffic novice team.
