Game 5: vs Mariposa
Our Muskies would have no time to rest after their tough game against the Thunder Wednesday night as they were on the road again Thursday night to face the Lightening again in Oakwood.
The bad habits carried over from the beginning of the night before with the passing and teamwork lacking and with that our boys were on their heels most of the night.
Nothing seemed to go our way on this night...the bounces weren't there...if we had an open man on the right wing the puck would take a bounce and go left. One of our Muskies would start to move the puck up the boards and the puck would stick and they would skate right by it.
Another unfortunate circumstance that occurred were some of the calls that were levied against us.
It is difficult to muster a strong offence when our team is given 16 minutes in penalties over a 40 minute game...one penalty for holding was called when a Mariposa player was laying on top of our defence and pushing his head into the ice???!!
I will take the high road on this subject and leave it at that.
At the end of the night, nothing seemed to go our way and our boys did not have their best night on the ice.
When the buzzer sounded to end the game the scoreboard had the Lightning on top 3-0
On the bright side..it was evident that this was not our best effort and that we could easily improve and beat this team the next time we meet.
Next game Saturday against Durham!!!!
