Final game of the first half
In a game that was re-scheduled from it's later date of December 23rd, to today, it was going to be a battle of the two Lindsay Three County Midget teams, with Teal being the Home team for this game.
This was going to prove to be one of those games that can be pretty tough on both teams. Both teams were short benched to begin with, and there were a couple of guys on Teal that have been sick or are battling colds. Things remained fairly quiet until the 4 minute mark of the first period when Dan put the first goal on the board for the home side. Just over a minute later it was Mike C that found the back of the net, but once again the Teal squad fell into their old ways of letting a team right back into a game quickly by giving up a goal of their own very quickly afterwards. At the end of the 2nd period the score was 2-1 for Teal.
The second period again saw Teal get two goals within a one minute time frame, at 10:49 and 9:51, both on the same shift; and both by Brock. This time however they would not give up a goal in return. After serving 3 penalties in the 2nd period, Teal would head to the break with a lead of 4- 1.
The third period had a lot of back and forth action with no particularly great plays, however Mike C was able to notch his 2nd goal of the game to give his team a 5-1 lead, a lead that would hold up for the remainder of the game, with both sides playing penalty free for the third period.
The win gives Lindsay Teal a fairly solid 16-5-1 record for the first half of the season; a record that should have them near the top of the standings in the Midget division. The second half of the season will be scheduled on January 6th.
