Barn Burner of a game
Almost all of the games between the two Lindsay teams this year have been very close games, and this one would prove to be no different.

Lindsay Teal played visitor in this game, and it seemed like they were going to come out and take charge right off the get go.  Just 1:17 into the game, Jeff took a feed from Connor and buried the puck behind the Lindsay Black goalie to take the early 1-0 lead.  To hope for a quick and painless end to this game was obviously just too much to ask for.  The one goal was the only goal that the game would see until just :38 into the second frame when Lindsay Black would tied the game on an awkward looking goal from #7.  And it seemed that these teams wanted to have a flair for the dramatic when with just :51 left in the frame #7 fire a wobbly puck that took a weird hop in front of Greg C and bounced over him into the net giving the home team the lead in the game 2-1 heading into the flood.
Teal knew that to guarantee themselves a spot in the A championship against Sturgeon, they would have to come out in the 3rd period and put some points up on the board.  And once again, with a flair for the dramatic, just :23 into the 3rd period we would have a tied game as Brock took a pass from Mike C and Wil and got it past the net-minder.  With a another 14 1/2 minutes of tense back and forth action and plenty of save at both ends of the ice, the home town rivals would find themselves heading into overtime in this critical game.  Keeping in mind that I said these teams seemed to want a flair for the dramatic, once the puck dropped for overtime, you knew it could be anyone's game.  Fortunately for Teal they were the ones that found themselves in the right end of the ice, and with a quick scramble in front of the net, Dan found a loose puck that had been knocked around by Jeff and Mike C, and with a quick wrist he fired the puck along the ice and under a screened goalie for the win.
The win tonight means that the game scheduled for Friday night in Manvers will likely be cancelled, as will the Lindsay Black game vs Sturgeon on Saturday as neither game would have a final impact on the round robin series as Lindsay Teal and Sturgeon have more points than either of the other two teams can accumulate at this point.  That decision will be made by the convenor once she has all information.  It will now fall to scheduling the playoff series after the March break to allow for all the players from both teams that are going to be away.  This should be another hard fought battle between the two centers.
