Tyke LL - Teal, U5 & U7, 2014-2015 (Lindsay Minor Hockey)

After defeating the Brock Wild in six games Lindsay Tyke Teal moved on to the Championship round against Sturgeon Red. Some of the emotional drain must have carried over from round #1. The Tyke Teal Muskies could not get it going for the first two games of the series. Sturgeon Red was a close match up for Lindsay but the bounces never seemed to go our way. Game #1 ended in dramatic fashion with Sturgeon scoring with 7.6 seconds left in the third period to win 3-2. Game #2 had Lindsay coming up short in the goal department to fall 5-2. Round one of the playoff's had Tyke Teal vs. Brock Wild White. These two teams could not have been more evenly matched. These two teams provided an exciting brand of hockey, unlike any other match up they faced all season, and the playoffs did not disappoint. Game #1 went to overtime with Brock pulling out the victory on home ice 3-2. Game #2 took place in Lindsay and proved to be just as exciting. Brock scored late in the third and the pressure kept coming. Lindsay managed to defend expertly and claim the win.

Lindsay Tyke Teal played in two different tournaments this season. The first, named the "Tyke Showdown" took place in Peterborough over the course of a weekend in early February.  The Tyke Teal Muskies represented Lindsay very well by advancing to the A final in our division, beating two different Peterborough teams. Sunday's final went to a tough opponent in the Cobourg Cougars. I think the pool and our team dinner was the highlight for all of the players that weekend!

Millbrook was hosted by Lindsay Teal on Sunday morning at the LRC. An emphasis of a quick start by Lindsay paid off and Lindsay was able to keep Millbrook off of the score board until very late in the second period. Unfortunately, the flood gates opened for Millbrook in the third period as they went on to score six unanswered goals. A tough result after a very strong effort from Lindsay Teal. Players of the game were Ryland Hanniman, Lucas McIntyre and Farrell Richards. Another Wednesday scramble to get to Sunderland for a 5:30 game against Brock Green. With the roster flipped upside down and some players playing defence for the first time this season Lindsay was in for an interesting game. Brock opened the scoring, in the first, to go up 3-0 but Lindsay answered back late in the second to make it 3-1. Lindsay scored late twice in the third to tie it up 3-3. With :28 on the clock in the third Brock scored their way to victory. Still, a great game to watch and a new experience for some players.
