They Won't Back Down: Muskies vs Mustangs, Round 2
It was a full house as everyone was in attendance the evening of Monday Nov.6th when the Lindsay Muskies Atom White team hosted the Manvers Mustangs in their home barn.

Into the 1st, the gates flew open and the Mustangs raced out to meet a ready and waiting Muskies team. Knowing what they were up against, Lindsay immediately went to work setting up their plays. Manvers found themselves in an early fight to break through, scoring the first goal of the game. Then, with 3 and a half minutes to go, Keira Watson #11 tied it up. Quickly after that, Nathan Sanderson #29 got the go ahead goal putting the Muskies in the lead. It was brief though, as Manvers retaliated, evening the score once again and ending a fast paced first period.

That vigorous momentum continued into the beginning of the 2nd when Manvers took the lead after only 2 minutes. The Muskies stood their ground, not backing down, and held strongly to their defensive actions. Multiple breakouts from the Atom White team worried the Mustangs, taking the battle for the puck into the corners of their own zone, and resulting in a collision with the referee at the goaline. Eventually, Manvers pushed back and broke through our barriers, adding another to their tally on the board.

The 3rd period was again fast and furiously fought as the Muskies worked hard to prevent the Mustangs from dominating once again. #17 Sean Hayman's fancy footwork and #14 Ethan Peterson's eagle eye consistently kept the puck clear from the Lindsay zone and the point spread narrow. This defensive wall kept the Mustangs corralled and allowed Jaxson Leith #5 to score the final goal of the game. Despite a thrilling breakout by Sean Hayman #17 with only 4.3 seconds left in the game, the shot fell short of the buzzer and the Muskies were still satisfied with the 4-3 loss.

Player of the game went to Sean Hayman #17 who empowered the Muskies defence with his speedy chase on the opposing team and his quick puck clearing. Congratulations!
