Bait & Switch: The Muskies meet the Coyotes (Round 3)
After surviving a winter shortage of food, the Kawartha Coyotes were salivating at the thought of a savory fish dinner when the Lindsay Muskies Atom White team traveled to Ops, but missed out on catching that trophy Muskie once again in an 8-0 shutout.

With a short bench and Coyotes home ice advantage, the Muskies had the odds stacked against them heading into the first period. Kawartha put the pressure on right from the start and Devon Moynes #8 knew exactly what to do as he played back in a defensive position to alleviate the pressure that his teammates were sensing. It paid off; midway through the 1st Nathan Sanderson #29 led the charge with 2 back to back goals followed by 2 more from Jaxson Leith #5 with an assist from Tristan Shiers #10. The Coyotes heads were spinning when the period ended with a 4-0 score.

Into the 2nd period, things seemed to get personal as Drake Robinson-West #9 felt the glaring stares from a few of his Coyote frenemies, and at one moment, the crowd thought they were in for more of a show than just a hockey game! Fortunately, the tense moment broke quickly and the Muskies played defensively with style and skill through a difficult period that yielded not many whistles, but also no further goals.

But my, how things can change in the blink of an eye! In the 3rd period the Lindsay White team was having no more of Kawartha's schoolyard antics and instead of retaliating they stuck to their mantra of showing their opponent on the board. A fast one at the top of the clock gave them a 5-0 lead and defenceman Sean Hayman #17 lifted a few power shots that nobody would want the misfortune of being infront of! The Coyotes tried everything to stop them but the Atom White team powered through some hard shots across sticky ice, brushing away the bumps and shoves, shutting Kawartha out for the 2nd time this season and sending the Coyotes back to their den.
