Imagine Fenelon: Lindsay and the Thunder
The Muskies felt the Thunder on Friday February 2nd when they traveled to Fenelon Falls to play their final away game of the regular season against the Sturgeon Lake team. The last time these 2 teams faced off was back in October so everyone was curious to see how this game would play out.

The beginning of the game brought with it a much stronger Sturgeon team than what Lindsay first met with at the start of the season. The first period was full of end to end action as the Muskies got a feel for the new and improved Thunder team. Ethan Thompson #6, stepping into a defensive role for this game, repeatedly took the play to the boards and carried the puck flawlessly out of our zone as Sturgeon flexed their strength with an unexpected push. Although it was a much calmer game than the Muskies had played recently, the first period ended scoreless for both teams.

Off the top of the 2nd, Nathan Wooldridge #15 and Keira Watson #11 held back to cover the Lindsay zone as Sean Hayman #17 carried the puck through the open lane all the way past Sturgeon's defence to the net, scoring the first goal of the game. Another halfway through the period, assisted by Dexter Eeuwes #4 and Ethan Peterson #14 set the tone and with most of the play pushed into the Thunder's zone, the Muskies managed a 3rd before the end of the 2nd.

Well into the 3rd, Sturgeon's goaltender was solid in fending off his opponents but couldn't hold it alone as the Muskies slid through their defence with 2 more  from Nathan Sanderson #29 and Keira Watson #11 near the end of the period. The Lindsay Atom White team ended their regular season away games with a 3 game shutout streak, winning over the Sturgeon Lake Thunder team, 5-0.

Congratulations to Dexter Eeuwes for earning player of the game! A dependable player who is always ready and eager to play each and every time that you're called up to the task! Despite the age difference, you always give 100% effort and have become a valuable member of the team!
