Peewees doing good deeds!
The Peewees entered the Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup for a chance at winning 100,000 to donate to a charity of their choice! They spent Saturday December 7th doing their good deeds, learning the importance of supporting the community and how rewarding it is to be able to make a difference in the lives of others!
The day began at Caressant Care where the Muskies spent time with the residents decorating cookies and chatting. It didn't take long for.......
candy, sprinkles and icing to cover the cookies....and tables, not to mention several disappearing altogether! As live Christmas carols were played, there was singing and even some dancing! As time drew near the end, the Peewees sang jingle bells and we wish you a Merry Christmas before saying goodbye.
Next stop was into a couple neighborhoods to collect food for the Kawartha Food Source. The Muskies went door to door asking for contributions and filled the back of a truck. Some were even able to experience dropping off the food, hearing about how the program helps those in need and sorting it onto the shelves.
The day was captured on film by Dylan who will be piecing together a short video clip for the contest. A special thank you to Dylan for offering his time and expertise in contributing to this event! The drone was a huge hit!!
We would also like to thank Boyer Chevrolet for providing a truck to use for the food drive; the Dietrich's for making dozens and dozens of cookies; Neil and Janice Brown for feeding lunch to a very hungry team (and parents!) and Linda Brown for the live music!
There were many awesome comments from the Peewees as they reflected on their day, what they experienced and how they felt........"my heart feels happy" sums it all up.
