Tyke LL - Teal, U5 & U7, 2013-2014 (Lindsay Minor Hockey)

We defeated the Sturgeon Lake Thunder tonight in the deciding game of our best-of-five series to win the Tri-County Minor Tyke Championship.

We lost another close game today to the Sturgeon Lake Thunder by a score of 1-0. It was a back and forth game, with both teams generating chances, but the keepers both played well.  Owen V. made some big saves for us, and their goalie shut us down on our breakaways. We are now deadlocked at two games apiece, and we will play a series-deciding Game 5 in Bobcaygeon tomorrow night.

We did not skate as well as we did in the first two games of the series.  We couldn't seem to generate as many scoring chances and we also allowed several breakaways and chances in front of the net.  Owen V. played well between the pipes, and Josh G. picked up our only goal (unassisted). We will try again to finish off the series Sunday morning at the Rec Centre.

We had a great defensive team effort tonight in Fenelon Falls to defeat the Sturgeon Lake Thunder by a score of 2-0 and take a two game lead in our best-of-five series.

We began our final playoff series in Bobcaygeon last night with a solid 7-2 win over the Sturgeon Grey team. It was a quiet first period.  Both teams had a few chances, but could not put the puck in the net.  Our defence played well.  Aidan, Caleb, and Connor did a great job of picking up loose pucks and sending them back out of our zone.  Owen V. made a few clutch saves to keep the game scoreless at the first intermission.
