Thrilling Double-OT Win to Take Series Opener
We played the first game of our best-of-five playoff series in Manvers last night.  After a thrilling 30 minutes of hockey, we were treated to two overtime periods of heart-pounding action before we scored the sudden-death winner to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

It was a close game throughout between two well-matched teams. Maguire opened up the scoring in the first period with Jarrett picking up the assist.  Manvers tied it up late in the second period on a breakaway.  Seth put us back in front in the third period, but they were able to tie it up again on another breakaway goal.

In the first overtime period, we dominated possession for a large part of the 4-on-4 battle, but we were unable to get the puck past their goalie.  Owen V. stood tall in our net, kept calm, and made a few big saves to keep us in the game.

There was some confusion at the end of the first overtime about how to proceed.  It was decided that we would play a second overtime period of 3-on-3 hockey.  Straight off the face-off, Seth grabbed the puck and took off for the net.  He put the game to bed with his second goal of the night.

It was a great effort by all of our players.  We are up 1-0 in the series, and the next game will be at home on Friday night.
