Shutout Win to Take 2-0 Series Lead
We had a great defensive team effort tonight in Fenelon Falls to defeat the Sturgeon Lake Thunder by a score of 2-0 and take a two game lead in our best-of-five series.
All of our defencemen (Caleb, Josh G., Aidan, Owen D., Connor, and Quinn) played very well tonight. We limited their chances, and Owen V. made some big saves to preserve the shutout (his third in the last four games). The forwards also did a good job helping out in our zone.
On offence, Sam scored an unassisted goal near the end of the first period to give us the lead, and Josh D. set up Seth for the insurance goal in the second period. The two goal cushion was more than enough as we kept them off the scoresheet to win by a final score of 2-0.
After two road games to start the series, we now bring a 2-0 lead back to Lindsay for Game 3. We will try to wrap up the series tomorrow night on home ice.
