Wednesday Night Win!
Lindsay Teal(2) took the ice against Mariposa tonight and gained a solid win
The Lindsay Teal team stepped on the ice tonight and gained a mid week win with solid defensive play and by taking advantage of turnovers.
Ryerson F was between the pipes for the second straight game and played solid throughout and even flashed the quick glove hand in the third period.
Sammy T got us on the board early by stealing a puck and making the best of the opportunity by sliding it past the Mariposa goaltender.
The defence of Josh G, Connor S, Caleb A and Owen D once again played unbelievable which allowed the offence to do their job in moving the puck down the ice.
Ethan M stole the puck as well and went in on a breakaway and buried it to give us a 2-0 lead.
Then...the penalties began.
The PK was solid and everyone pitched in to stop Mariposa from getting back into the game.
Jarrett B once again played a great two way game and made sure the Mariposa offence could not get into our end.
Mariposa managed to get one back on one of their powerplays but they were never really a threat when it was 5 on 5.
Josh D was on the prowl and batted the puck out of our end at every opportunity.
Ian K had a good game and almost potted his first on a partial break..the goalie came up with a big save at the side of the net
Maguire D and Aiden G were quick on their feet and made some great passes that almost led to a 3-1 lead.
Griffen W put the pressure on the defence in their end by chasing them and on a few occasions, causing them to cough up the puck.
Near the end of the 3rd period; Owen V pounced on a turnover and potted his first goal of the year which solidified the win. Followed up by an excited celebration around the ice.
The team understands that control of the puck and solid defence by all will win the day.
We have lots of practice before our next game in Millbrook (Monday at 6pm in Millbrook) which will give us time to fine tune some skills for more wins.
